The final match of the 2011-2012 UEFA Champions League will be played at the Allianz Arena stadium in Munich, Germany on 19 May 2012.
The stadium, which has a capacity of 69,901, was an important venue for the 2006 World Cup and witnessed some of the best matches of the tournament. The stadium has seating capacity of 66,000.
This is one of the most beautiful football stadiums in the world and is specially designed to change its outside colours to reflect the colours of competing teams. Its facilities include 550 toilets and parking for 9,800 vehicles.
Allianz, one of the largest financial service provider has purchased the right to name the stadium for 30 years.
Because UEFA does not allow sponsors names in venues (unless it is an official sponsor!), the stadium will be temporarily renamed the Fußball-Arena München. Or Munich Football Stadium in English.
We've been here before. During the 2006 World Cup the stadium was known as FIFA World Cup Stadium Munich.
The stadium has 4 team locker rooms, 4 locker rooms for coaches and 2 for referees . It also boasts 3 day care centers, 2 fan shops, the FC Bayern Munich Megastore and the TSV 1860 München Allianz Arena Megastore.
You can easily also reach the stadium by public transport. For those traveling by train, they can catch the S-Bahn to Marienplatz from Munich East or from Munich's main station on underground line U6.
German fans will be hoping for home victory. The Champions League final in 2010 was held in Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid which was won by the Italy’s Inter Milan, who beat Bayern Munich 2-0.
